Titel: Colour and light in real and virtual rooms
My presentation is based on studies of spatial colour phenomena in real rooms, and comparisons between real spatial settings and virtual reality simulations. The main problems dealt with have been how colours can appear due to various combinations and lighting conditions. At Chalmers Architecture, we have developed and evaluated methods for studying colours in rooms, methods that have given us reliable visual identifications of perceived colour and allowed comparisons between different settings, in reality as well as in digital models. The phenomenon of interreflection has been systematically studied and discussed in relation to simultaneous contrast. I will highlight problems of simulating spatial colour phenomena in digital modeling and propose ideas for further research.
