My current position as professor at the Division of Communications and Transport Systems at Linköping University includes both teaching and research. My teaching is mainly done in courses offered on the civil engineering program Kommunikation, Transport och Samhälle (KTS). The courses are in the field of quantitative analysis, transport demand modelling, optimization and systems analysis. My research focus is on quantitative methods for transport modelling and analysis. The research projects covers passenger transport demand modelling, transport data analytics and transport flow modelling. I am the research group leader for the Traffic Modelling and Simulation group. Since January 2010 I am head of unit for the Traffic Systems unit at the division.

Teaching

Since January 2021 I am a member of the program board for Industrial Economics and Logistics (IL). Since January 2009 I have a been substitute member of the same board and have also been the chairman of the program planning group (PPG) for the undergraduate programs in Norrköping belonging this board (SL, FTL and KTS). I am the coordinator of the five-year engineering program Kommunikation, Transport och Samhälle (KTS) since 2009. Since 2008 I am the coordinator for the Traffic Analysis master program profile on the KTS program. During the years 2003-2011, I was the director of undergraduate studies at the division.

I currently do the majority of my teaching in the following courses:

In addition to the above stated courses, I am supervisor or examiner for a few master theses per year.

Research

My research focus on transport modelling and applications of transport models. The research is made within a number of projects. I am currently involved in the following projects "Code Flow" and "Multi-modal traffic management" (MMTL) and other project related to demand modelling.

Publications

Below is a list of selected publications. A more complete list of publications in journals and reports can be found at Google Scholar.

PhD students

In most of the reseach projects that I am involved in also involve at least one PhD candidate. In some of the projects, my involvement is tightly connected to the supervision of a PhD candidate.
